The goal was to stop the Germans from destroying the Nijmegen Bridge (Netherlands). The bridge has been destroyed twice during WWII, and since has been rebuilt for modern vehicles and cyclists. About 14 actors played the role of actual persons in WWII. Based on our research, we assume this film was based on a true story.
