Is the influential 1956 classic American western epic directed by George Steven (who won the Best Director Academy Award for this film) and starring Elizabeth Taylor, Rock Hudson, James Dean, Carroll Baker, Jane Withers, Chill Wills, Sal Mineo, Dennis Hopper Mercedes McCambridge, Rod Taylor and Earl Holliman. This vintage poster is in Very Fine condition with vibrant, bright colors and clean mid century modern design which display beautifully. It has minor signs of use and slight edge and corner wear. There are unobtrusive stains and markings in the border and blank areas. The poster with its minimalist design is very stylish and also very rare - especially in such excellent condition.

Tensions between cattle baron Bick Benedict (Rock Hudson) and hired hand turned rich oil man Jett Rink (James Dean) boil over on the West Texas plains. This legendary film tells the story of Bick, his wife Leslie (Elizabeth Taylor), and the generations that follow, confronting hard times, death and racism.

Was the last of Dean's three films as a leading actor, and earned him his second and last Academy Award nomination. He was killed in a car crash and his friend Nick Adam's.

Overdubbed some of Dean's lines, which were nearly inaudible, as Rink's voice. In several scenes of the movie. In 2005, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. As being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". Won praise from both critics and the public, and according to the Texan author Larry McMurtry.

Was especially popular with Texans, even though it was sharply critical of Texan society. Was a huge box-office success.

This record was not surpassed until the Warner film Superman. Giant was nominated for the Best Motion Picture Academy Award; Rock Hudson was nominated for Best Actor as was Dean; and Mercedes McCambridge was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. The film was nominated for ten Academy Awards altogether. Is considered to be the inspiration for the hit 1980s television drama Dallas.
